Whydah 03:46
WHYDAH ©Corrie Shelley The captain said jump aboard I’ll make a man of thee You’ll earn more money on this ship than you have ever seen, So leave your family at home and sail the seven seas Aboard the Whydah sailing over to the colonies It wasn’t long after we left that we all realized The ship that we had jumped aboard would take away our lives If the hardwork and foul food didn’t kill you first It was the salty water from the sea you drank to quench your thirst Hoist oy, hoist away, Hoist oy, hoist away For 40 days and 40 nights We sailed the treacherous seas We manned the oars, and scrubbed the decks and prayed for liberty We climbed the rigging to the top for land we wished to see But a pirate ship on the starboard side our vessel they did seize Hoist oy, hoist away, Hoist oy, hoist away, His name was Black Sam Bellamy and with his motley crew We raided other vessels oh they didn’t have a clue We plundered all their treasure and stored it in the hold 50 ships were struck that year or so the story’s told hoist oy, hoist away, Hoist oy, hoist away, We headed north up to Cape Cod Year 1717 Old Bellamy thought he was God who owned these treacherous seas On April the 26th a storm it hit us hard The ship it sank into the sand only two of us survived Hoist oy, hoist away, Hoist oy, hoist away, They found me lying on the beach surrounded by the dead John Julian had vanished he’d grabbed his loot and fled They hauled me up to Boston and questioned me till dawn About all the gold and silver and the treasures we had stole Hoist oy, hoist away, Hoist oy, hoist away, Thomas Davis is my given name and I was born in Wales My heart it lies upon that ship and wherever she may sail So when you hang me by the noose my cry will ring clear I’m a Pirate, that I be Hoist OY, and Hoist Away Hoist oy, hoist away, Hoist oy, hoist away, Hoist oy, hoist away, Hoist oy, hoist away,

Sir William and the Father © Corrie Shelley In sixteen forty three they came riding o’er the fens For to find a young fair maiden These 20 noble men Astride their jet black stallions With reins of crimson red Every village that they passed through Well they took one to their bed Sir William, he sat up proud surveying all around He spied a young fair maiden Seated on the ground He said “come over here my girl And let me take a look” But her father in-between he got And away his daughter took Sir William said eagerly, “I’ll take her off your hands And I will pay most handsomely With silver, gold and land For one who has such beauty Is a sight to behold” But her father he said “no my lord I shall not see her sold” “Go hide my child” her father said “For I’ll not see thee wed To one who is so brazen With his tunic of fine thread If he wishes for to take you Away as his new bride He must court thee for 3 long years Before you’ll leave my side” So Alice, rose, shook out her hair, Glowing raven in the sun And she took flight across the glen As fast as she could run She hid amongst the old oak roots Surrounded by the thorns No-one would ever find her there Safe, until the night would fall Sir William amused was he agreed to all the terms He sent away his fellow men 3 years they must return For then a wedding there would be Where he’d make this girl his wife No more she’d run away from him She would love him all his life Her father, losing her he feared In turmoil and in hell The old wise woman he did ask To conjure up a spell “Her beauty would increase each day To tempt this noble knight But if she were to leave this town She would age within the night” Each day he rode the many miles, to the one who’d stole his heart No more an hour he’d spend with her Before they’d have to part And as the seasons dawned a new His raven headed girl Her beauty was beyond compare Her hair her crowning jewel Her father said “you’ve proved your worth You’ve courted 3 long years I do believe you are the one You’ve allayed all my fears So take my daughter as your wife And be true to her alone” Sir William and Alice, with his blessing They rode home Now Her father had forgotten, the curse that she possessed Sir William and Alice had But one nights wedded bliss And as the dawn was breaking She aged before his eyes But Sir William he cared not For he loved his one true bride

The Pattern 04:12
The Pattern ©Corrie Shelley There's a pattern on the table that tells of times gone by of wedding bells and happy times, and love lights in her eyes I can see her face so clearly, as though she's sat with me I can reach across and wipe away that single falling tear I think of all the dreams she had, of how her life would be the house the kids the picket fence, and holidays by the sea but this pattern lies untouched, never cut and never made never worn by the blushing bride, on her wedding day Her bouquet is replaced now with a telegram that says her man he died a hero on the shores of Normandy this war it changed so many things leaving broken hearts behind the men they fell on battlefields, no safe place left to hide It changed our cities and our towns and the way we live our lives but this pattern and the memories remind us of those times There's a pattern on the table that tells of times gone by of wedding bells and happy times, and love lights in her eyes I can see her face so clearly, as though she's sat with me I can reach across and wipe away that single falling tear I can see her face so clearly, as though she's sat with me I can reach across and wipe away that single falling tear I can reach across and wipe away that single falling tear

Love Is Blind ©Corrie Shelley I need you more than ever, now that you are gone and now and then your image haunts my memory you'll never know how much I loved you if only you could see but then you never wanted me Days pass and nights fly and I wonder why you ever meant so much to me I could never find the words to show my true feelings but then you'd never understand days go by and people change, but you just stay the same you're all I want in life Days pass and nights fly and I wonder why you ever meant so much to me Don't keep me hanging on to nothing they always say that Love is Blind I trusted everything you ever said but look what love has done to me Days pass and nights fly and I wonder why you ever meant so much to me Don't keep me hanging on to nothing they always say that Love is Blind I trusted everything you ever said but look what love has done to me but look what love has done to me

Memories 02:59
Memories © Corrie Shelley I remember walking down your street many years ago and I’d often take a sneaky peek up at your window to see if you were standing there looking back at me But the only thing I’d ever see were your arms around Wendy You married her, I moved away to Newcastle Upon Tyne I married Jack, we had three kids I had his heart, but you had mine I often used to think of you and if you thought of me standing there outside your house for all the world to see Now forty years have passed us by and time has not been kind the kids have all flown the nest I lost my Jack to the mine You lost your wife , I moved back home to our town in Lancashire and I’d love to see your face again after all these years But the past, well it changes us nothings as it seems but time, can’t erase the love I feel in my dreams Well I thought I’d give it one last shot to see if it is real and I know mi kids will call me soft after all these years but when you walk into the room I know where I should be leaving you inside my head as just a memory but the past, well it changes us nothings as it seems, but time can’t erase the love I feel in my dreams but the past, well it changes us nothings as it seems, but time can’t erase the love I feel in my dreams

Wild Wind 04:55
Wild Wind ©Corrie Shelley Oh the Wild Wild Wind will carry me home back to where it all began and I'll meet my love under the branches of the tree at the setting of the evening sun Wild wind won't you carry me, back to where it all began Wild wind won't you carry me, back to my lovers arms again Oh I left my love to find fortune and fame 5 long years I have been gone but the one true thing that brought joy to my life was the one thing that I'd left back home Wild wind won't you carry me, back to where it all began Wild wind won't you carry me, So I can be in my lovers arms again Wild wind won't you carry me, back to where it all began Wild wind won't you carry me, So I can be in my lovers arms again As I stand waiting under the branches of the tree my heart it cries out to the moon for my one true love has caught the wind beneath his wings and he's flown away to follow his dreams Wild wind you did not carry me, back to where it all began Wild wind you did not carry me, back to my lovers arms again Now my heart if pines for my true love whom I've lost Whilst I chased my selfish dreams And the Wild Wild wind blows across this empty plain and brings back those memories Wild wind you did not carry me, back to where it all began Wild wind you did not carry me, back to my lovers arms again So take heed and remember that my dreams could've been made with the one sitting with me so you must take care of the ones you hold so dear or your dreams will float away on the breeze Wild wind you could not carry me, back to where it all began Wild wind you could not carry me, for my lovers arms won't hold me again Wild wind you could not carry me, back to where it all began Wild wind you could not carry me, for my lovers arms won't hold me again Ooh Wild Wind, Ooh Wild Wind, Ooh Wild Wind, now my lovers arms won't hold me again
