Say Goodnight to the Stars © Corrie Shelley Where ever you go Be it land or be it sea We share the same skies Where ever we may be So as the sun goes down And the moon is rising high I’ll say goodnight to the stars You’ll sail the high seas To countries far and wide Long gone are those days When you need me by your side So as the sun goes down And the moon is rising high Please say goodnight to the stars Where ever you go Where ever you roam Underneath the brightest star Will always be your home So as the sun goes down And the moon is rising high I’ll say goodnight to the stars Please say goodnight to the stars Where ever you go Be it land or be it sea We share the same skies Where ever we may be So as the sun goes down And the moon is rising high I’ll say goodnight to the stars Please say goodnight to the stars We’ll say goodnight to the stars

Five Minutes More © Corrie Shelley He walks into the kitchen throws his arms around her waist plants a kiss upon her cheek and breathes in her scent she laughs as she pushes him gently away Go wash your hands you dirty man you’ve been underground all day! I just want to hold you for five minutes more it's been a hard day m’love I’ve been worked to the core the only thing that gets me through is knowing that you’re here and I can hold and dance with you till the knocker upper comes once more He swings her round the kitchen she laughs until she cries as the food upon the stove quickly boils dry There's coal dust on her dress now and grease marks on her face but the glow that radiates from her makes his heart race I just want to hold you for five minutes more it's been a hard day m’love I’ve been worked to the core the only thing that gets me through is knowing that you’re here and I can hold and dance with you till the knocker upper comes once more Every night it's the same at 6.30 on the dot her twirls her round the kitchen from waltz to fox trot he’s worked a 12 hour shift again pulling coal from the ground but the glow that radiates from her makes his heart pound I just want to hold you for five minutes more it's been a hard day m’love I’ve been worked to the core the only thing that gets me through is knowing that you’re here and I can hold and dance with you till the knocker upper comes once more For 15 years this went on not a day did he miss he’d twirl her round the kitchen surrounded by the kids All laughing and dancing to the imaginary song that played the same in all their heads that made their love so strong I just want to hold you for five minutes more it's been a hard day m’love I’ve been worked to the core the only thing that gets me through is knowing that you’re here and I can hold and dance with you till the knocker upper comes once more Then one day at half past two the coal pit siren blew the whole street stopped their chores down the street they flew An explosion had split the seam trapping men underground it would be hours before anyone knew if anyone had been found No coal dust on her dress now no grease marks on her face no glow that radiates from her, that made his heart race now she dances on her own no husband by her side no-one to twirl her round and round just the memory in her mind the song still plays from time to time and his words ring in her ears she wishes she could hold him for five minutes more the only thing that got her through was knowing he was there when he would hold and dance with her till the knocker upper comes once more

The Tide 04:55
The Tide © Corrie Shelley, Bob Kettle, Paul Ariss, Nina Birley, Chris Frost, Janice Pearson, Sally Pluckwell Oh the sea, oh the sea, I remember the sea You were there when I felt that I was free Donkey rides, toffee rock, and no sign of a clock and the tide rolls in and rolls out again Oh the sea, oh the sea, how cruel you can be taking souls from the desperate and poor risking all, hand in hand, to reach golden sands and the tide rolls in and rolls out again Beauty in anger calmness from pain life is given and taken and given again as we sip on tequila and complain we need more the dreams of our children wash up on the shore Oh the sea, oh the sea, will you give liberty to the souls who are dying to be free blood in sand, hand in hand, riding oceans in fear and the tide rolls in and rolls out again Oh the sea, oh the sea, please give us the key to escape from this pain and misery cleanse our hearts, wash our souls, deliver us home and the tide rolls in and rolls out again And we're all slaves of time to these waves of emotion the sea will give and take away take care of our people look after our lands we can all live in peace we're all grains of sand oh the sea, oh the sea, though you witness tragedy You'll be there when this madness is all done I'll stay strong, flow along, we all need to belong As the tide rolls in and rolls out again as the tide rolls in and rolls out again as the tide rolls out and rolls in again {to fade}

Wrecking Ball © Corrie Shelley Every day you walk in through that door But I don’t even recognise your face Your touch is soft, and your voice is pure as you fix a smile and take me to that place to when we first met all those years ago and how we used to sit and watch the rain You described our life in all the small details Hoping I’ll remember lifting up my veil But there's a wrecking ball, a wrecking ball Inside my head Erasing Memories and all the good times that we had Momma used to always say Don’t worry about what's been But momma don’t have a wrecking ball wrecking all she’s seen The photos you bring try to help me see you point to the them, and tell me that it's me But the young girl standing with us … who is she? coz in the mirror, is my momma, staring back at me You tell me of the children that we had of how we’d sit and watch them play and laugh We’d climb up hills, and roll among the hay and gladly let the hours just slip away But there's a wrecking ball, a wrecking ball Inside my head Erasing Memories and all the good times that we had Momma used to always say Don’t worry about what's been But momma don’t have a wrecking ball wrecking all she’s seen Sometimes I have these fleeting memories of holding hands and kissing my lovers face your soft touch, well it sparks something in me but standing here an old man’s took his place Coz there's a wrecking ball, a wrecking ball Inside my head Erasing Memories and all the good times that we had Momma used to always say Don’t worry about what's been But momma don’t have a wrecking ball wrecking all she’s seen Momma used to always say Don’t worry about what's been But momma don’t have a wrecking ball wrecking all she’s seen Oh momma don’t have a wrecking ball wrecking all she’s seen No momma don’t have a wrecking ball wrecking all she’s seen

about

After 30 years away from music eccentric photographer and chronic tea addict Corrie Shelley attended a songwriting workshop. The Tide, couldn’t have been a more appropriate result of this day, as wave after wave of Corrie’s uniquely moving songs poured out.

The album title is inspired by Corrie’s feeling that songs are growing in the dusty jars of her memory, and is accompanied by a piece of wall-art, reminiscent of Corrie’s childhood drawings.

This is truly a stunning debut!
